Late Check In/Early Check out

Note to Parents/Guardians

The WCE school day begins at 7:35am and ends at 2:15pm each day. It is very important that your child is present and on time each day so that we can meet their educational needs. If your child is tardy, absent, or checking out for any reason, please send all excuses to the link below. Simply scan or take a photo of your doctor’s excuse and send it to the link. Within the email, please send your child’s full name, teacher’s name, and reason for the absence. As always, thank you for supporting Walnut Creek Elementary, where we are “Winning For Kids”.


Excuse Notes

All student absences are counted as unexcused unless on of the following has occurred:

  • The school has received a doctor's or dentist's excuse note
  • The school has received a copy of the obituary if a family member has passed away
  • The student was sent home sick from the clinic aide's office
  • The school has received a handwritten not from the parent explaining why their child was out
    • Parents are only allowed five handwritten notes per school year
