School-Parent Compact
What is a School Parent Compact?
A school-parent compact is a written agreement between the school, parents, and students that describes how the will work together to support student learning and achievement.
It is a requirement of Title I under the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and serves as a commitment by all three parties to share the responsibility for improving academic achievement.
Jointly Developed
Parents, students, and staff at Walnut Creek Elementary School worked together to create this School-Parent Achievement Compact.
Teachers suggested performance tasks and math journal strategies to use in class.
Parents added practical strategies that could be done at home.
Students shared what they could do to support their own learning
Each year, meetings are held to review the compact and make updates based on student needs, as it is a living document. Parents can contribute comments and feedback at any time.
