Support WCE
There are many ways parents and families can play a role in their child's education here at Walnut Creek Elementary.
Ways you can support your school
Communicate and Stay Informed
Communicate Regularly with your child's teacher and school staff to updated on their progress and any school news. Attending parent-teacher conferences and school workshops or family nights is a great way to learn about the curriculum and find new ways to support your child's learning at home.
Support Learning at Home
Create a consistent homework routine and provide a quiet space for your child to study. Reinforce the importance of education by talking about what they're learning and celebrating their academic and behavioral successes
Volunteer Your Time
Your time is one of the most valuable contributions you can make. Consider volunteering in the classroom, helping with school events, or assisting with tasks in the main office or media center. Contact the Family Engagement Liaison to learn about current volunteer needs and required background checks.
Donate Supplies
Teachers at Title I schools often spend their own money on school supplies. You can support them by donating items like pencils, paper, crayons, or other supplies they may need.
Encourage Good Attendance
Help your child develop strong habits by ensuring they arrive at school on time every day and minimize unnecessary absences. Consistent attendance is crucial for academic success.
